The ingredients within Dental Care Sticks should not cause any underlying problem if given in large amounts – however eating a large volume of any food can sometimes cause a digestive upset and may, very occasionally cause bloating of your dog’s tummy – so it is worth considering a clinical exam and possible the induction of emesis depending on the level of consumption.

There are no known concerns if a dog swallows a YuMOVE Dental Care Stick whole, as it will just get digested in the stomach – just like any other food.

The YuMOVE Dental Care Sticks are approximately 10% of a dogs daily calorie recommendation, so clients should adjust their dogs diets accordingly: 10% when giving the sticks daily and 5% when giving every other day (or 10% on days they are giving the YuMOVE Dental Care Sticks).

Urinary Care

Why is there magnesium within YuMOVE Urinary Care? Is this a concerns for cats with struvite crystals?

Magnesium stearate is needed to help with the consistency of the powder. We know struvite crystals are a common concern in cats, so we have tested our capsules, and there is only a very small amount of magnesium within the capsules: 0.36mg Magnesium (0.09%).

Commonly used urinary food contain 0.02-0.07% magnesium equating to 13mg – 42mg of magnesium a day for a 4kg cat. In context this demonstrates the magnesium in YuMOVE Urinary Care is fairly minimal but is something we would recommend clients discuss with their vet.
